Cory Bautista, the director of New York Models and host on Bravo's "Make Me a Supermodel" had some really poignant things to say in his blog:
Cory's Blog
So Much Growth
BRAVOTV.COM: What was your take on Holly? How has she grown over the season?
CORY: Holly grew this season, but she had an advantage over the others, which was her passion for this industry. You are bound to learn a thing or two when you study it the way she did. She knows who the top photographers and stylists are, she knows how to pose due to all the editorial magazines she has devoured and she believes in herself. Despite agencies rejections to represent her, she never took no for an answer.
These are some things a lot of people need to understand when trying to enter the modeling industry! I always say rejection is 99% of modeling...

Well then I guess I am 99% of the way there! hahah! Or maybe 1% of the way there, I don't know, I have confused myself now. :)
I sent packages out to 7 different commercial agencies in NYC in the past few weeks, and so far, I have only heard back from one; Wilhemina. They rejected me, but they were very nice about it, (sent me a nice note and even returned my photos.) I will just keep sending in new pics every 2 months, round-a-bout- until I turn purple. I will never stop trying! They will have to sign me just to get rid of me! (I am kidding of course)Someone will eventually sign me, and I will work so hard for them, they will be so glad they did- that is my story and I am sticking with it. :)
YOU GO GIRL!!!!
THAT is the attitude you need to have.
Thank-you for posting that, I'm sure a lot of people will be inspired by you!
Hi Judy,
I'm glad you posted that. People don't realize how hard it is to get in. Rejection is a major part and you must be strong enough to except it and move on. Actually that drove me to work even harder. Keep the faith and keep sending in those pic's. You never know !!!
Good Luck Lara you will do well.

Yes, keeping the faith in the modeling industry is hard but possible. Just beware of not crossing the line with sending pictures or emailing agents too much, you can get quickly blacklisted in this business for being annoying.
