What do you eat?

Have you ever really thought about what you put in your body along with how much you excerise?

Models DO have to be in shape and runway models have to be, well, yes, on the thin side. For some of us that is not possible, because our bone structure is just not naturally thin...I believe that is how runway models get into trouble. Their frame is just not accepting the weight that they want to be.

What to do? For everyone, toning excerises to lengthen and tone our muscles (no heavy weight lifting because that makes you bigger), LOTS of fruits and vegetables, and 8 - 10 glasses of water a day to flush the toxins out and help you digest more efficiently.

You need to have a healthy balance!

Does anyone have any tips that they can post for nutrition, dieting or exercise?

Hi Judy,

Although I am thin and carry a small frame, I learned to eat healthie !! I do workout 3-4 times
a week. Very little weight but a lot of reps. This helps to long gate the muscle and tone you out. I eat 6-8 small meals a day. When on the run, I add in that meal plan fresh veggie or fruit juicing.
It helps for natural energy!! The last thing you want to do is strave yourself thin. Read and educate yourself for a better way of life. And mainly think about your future and health after modeling. Pulling for you !!!

Yes, that is the most important - AFTER modeling. When you are young, you may think modeling is going to last forever, and it doesn't. Certain dieting techniques can have long-term negative effects on your body, and it just isn't worth it. Especially when you can get a great (better!) looking body with exercise and the proper diet.

Smart models eat smart and do the right exercises for their body type.

Wow!! Thank you for the post Judy!
I subscribed to your blog, posted The Modeling Connection blogspot address on my myspace blog, and sent a bulletin to all my friends on myspace to go to your blog to check out the kudos.

I also plan on advising my Silent Beauties to read your blog and get the your book in July.
It's a DEAFinit read!

I never knew of your extensive background & experience in the Modeling biz. You are on my wish list now... for a possible seminar, booksigning or to be a judge in our upcoming Fashion Show. Much continued success with the blog and the book!

I drink hoodia cofee everyday, and it helps me in sticking to my diet tremendously. (And it tastes like regular coffee) I also get really bad sweet tooths; you know those days when you can't think about anything other than eating a whole bowl of brownie batter? I have found that eating a few of those Viactive calcium chews, (in caramel works for me) will completely crush my sweet tooth, and I am no longer the brownie batter's bitch! (Can I say that?) :)
Those calcium chews are so delicious and totally necessary for my health anyway!
I am someone who hates to cook and I have food phobias anyway, so I don't eat big meals and I don't crave a wide variety. I kind of eat to live, instead of living to eat, so I am lucky that way. My major battle is against bread and butter. (come to mama!) :)

"Brownie batter's bitch"??? LOL Lara, you are to funny!!!

A good way to fill yourself up before a meal is to drink a full glass of water right before you eat - an old modeling trick of mine...:) Then you won't eat so much - it really works! And water is so GOOD for you.

Yes, I agree water is great for filling me up and making my skin look fresh, too. Lucky for me I love water!
Another trick I have is I wear tight, kind of uncomfortable jeans fow a few days if I need to lose a few pounds, as it tricks me into eating less. If I am home hanging out in roomy sweats I'll subconciously think I have lots of room in my clothes so I can eat! NO NO NO! I might be a little cranky from the tight jeans but it really helps remind me of what I am trying to do, because I get SO busy, I can forget while stuffing a buttered roll in my mouth!
:)
